Sunday 26th was a beautiful day in the Hunter Valley and with a Show and Shine at the Kurri Nostalgia Festival I Cleaned up the Centurion put on the Parade Covers and Cruised on down to Main Street Kurri Kurri.
Directed parking saw me between a Chevrolet and a Cadillac. Over Four hundred cars were on display including about a dozen Buicks.
As I walked around admiring them I found a few old members who had sought Tony’s expertise and a couple who had been chatting with Paul Camilleri.
By the time I had covered over half the display it was getting quite warm so a couple of cold beers at the Kurri Hotel went down well, followed by a Rotary sausage and egg sandwich.
After watching the Rock & Roll dancing for a good hour or so (They are fit to keep up in the sunshine and humidity) and listening to one of the four bands performing it was time to go.
Just before I left I ran I to the owner of the 58 2 door Super and found out he had purchased it in very poor condition, mostly in parts, for about $5000 and spent only about $10000 getting it on the road and painted ( he did say he was a Spray Painter ). Got to be one of the best deals since I can’t find one for less the $35000.
It was a great day out and they seem to always get good weather so hope to see some more Buicks there next year.
