Tony & Barbara drove up on Saturday in the 71 Riv, staying overnight in Budgewoi. The sky was blue with clouds and the M1 was flowering bright showing off bottle brushes in red, pink and purple, Grevilleas in pink, yellow and cream along with Flannel flowers and Gymea Lillies. Some roadworks were encountered and a ”thumbs” up from a Triumph motorcyclist. There were lots of blossoms, wattles, trucks, RV’s and tankers on the way. A little rattle was present and needs to be investigated!
At Ourimbah there was a problem with the 71’s steering, so pulled off to a small park to check. Tony’s comment was ‘its a new steering box must be the pump’! Continued on to The Entrance, parked in main street looked at cars and had some lunch and then gelato. Walked around to the Italian Cafe discovered during the ROA Meet the previous year for a coffee and a nice cannoli and then off to accommodation at Motel Acacia which was next to a river and quite nice so settled in and conversed with neighbours who were an Italian couple from Sicily. Dinner was at Budgewoi Soccer Club with Colin, Dawn, Ian & Val. Back to the motel for a cuppa and bed.
Sunday met up with everyone at the Diggers Club carpark following Colin & Dawn in. Greetings all round and then convoyed into the Entrance and our spot in Coral Street. We had more cars than originally anticipated and had to increase our area. Thanks Bob for keeping our space. Camp Buick was set up on the opposite side to the pie shop and coffee was next with homemade goodies.
There were many market stalls including a barber shop set up close by and further over many cars on display along with stage, full dance floor, fashion & great music. Also a Vintage Caravans Display and Motorcycles. Barbara watched the Pin Up Girl Competition…interesting, some very buxom beauties!
Present on the day: 9 Buicks. Colin & Dawn Castle with friends Val & Ian (50), Tony & Barbara Gentilcore (71 Riv), John Stewart (83). Jason (Riv), Peter & Gwen Allen (Chev), Gary & Janice Ferrett (55), Paul White (36), Rod & Sue Learmonth (67 Riv), Greg & Geraldine Massey (78), Mark Laycock (72) & Geoff Heaton (Ford Galaxy)

Congratulations Club member Jason Edwards who won a prize with his lovely blue 55 for Top 10 Classic. The trophy was interesting and different…an air cleaner mounted on wood! Car of the Day was a 55/56 Chevy. The front is 55 the back is a 56 model!
Looking around some more, Tony & Barbara left just before 4pm for the trip back home to Sydney. An enjoyable couple of days.
